VECTOR RESOURCING

Lindsay Bramwell Profile

How long have you been in the Recruitment industry for?
I joined Vector in August 1998 and it is the only recruitment company I have worked for.  So that is 13 years and rising.

What sets you apart from the rest?
Ideas, I am always full of ideas. Sometimes good and sometimes awful. I could also add managing not to laugh when people ask me stupid questions.

What do you think the key is to successful IT recruitment?
Firstly when liaising with companies it is important to be interested in their business and the people you are speaking to.  Secondly asking questions that reveal what value a contractor is going to add to a project, so going way beyond checking for a basic skill match.

What has been your biggest achievement to date?
It has always been our aim at Vector for our clients and contractors to receive a quality service and benefit from an easy and speedy recruitment process. To do this we seem to work slightly differently from the competition. It has been a big company achievement embracing changes to the way we work. The client and contractor feedback has been really positive as they have enjoyed the benefits. We now commonly successfully fill contract vacancies based on recommending one contractor. This is saving clients and contractors time and money.

Do you have any role models?
I am not someone who really has role models. Currently I am reading the A.P. McCoy autobiography v2. He is an example of mind over matter if you want to succeed. An A.P. fact, a broken bone only counts if it requires surgery, or so it seems in A.P. world! Having broken the occasional bone in my time I’m not sure to fully subscribe to this.

What are your hobbies outside of work?
It’s winter so I am looking forward to being allowed a week skiing. A huge thank you to the generous owners of the apartment I am staying in for putting up this week via a charity auction.

Tell us an interesting fact about youself.
I was an Kempton on boxing day and thoroughly enjoyed the privilege of watching so many great horses and obviously the imperious Kauto Star winning his 5th King George. Roll-on Cheltenham.
