Although jobcentres recognise that IT Professionals fall into the category of specialist jobseekers, after three months they still insist they broaden their job searches away from IT, leaving many to apply for inappropriate roles which do not utilise their skills.

The recent Computer Weekly quarterly IT jobs market survey found that the number of IT vacancies increased 1.8% in the final quarter of last year, and this is supported by the numerous positive reports across the media.
