Making the move from Permanent to Contracting
Contractors generally tend to earn more than their permanent counterparts which is good news if you are thinking about making the move from permanent to contracting.
And even better news is that the demand for IT contractors is increasing as more and more corporate, and even government agencies, are utilising this mobile work force which offers highly skilled, flexible workers to perform specific tasks and manage projects.
All you need to do is ensure your CV is up to date (see our CV section for advice) and email us on cvs@vector-uk.com and we’ll do the rest.
The only thing you need to decide is whether you wish to operate your own Limited Company or work through an Umbrella Company.
So what is the difference? In essence, if you are outside IR35 and intend to be contracting for a minimum of three months you’ll earn more money but there will be additional administration (paperwork) if you run your own Limited Company. If you choose to work through an Umbrella Company, you would not earn as much money but there would be less paperwork.
