Vector Resourcing Sponsor Air Aid Ball

Friday 7 November 2008

Vector Resourcing are proud to announce that they are sponsoring the Air Aid Ball which takes place on Saturday 20th June 2009. This spectacular event aims to raise money for the Sussex & Surrey Air Ambulance.

The first Air Aid Ball was held in 2007 at Henhaw Farm, near Redhill Aerodrome, and raised over £56,000 for the charity. The Air Ambulance service in Kent, Surrey and Sussex costs around £3 million annually to stay airborne. Receiving no funding from the Government or the National Lottery, the charity is entirely dependent upon the generosity of the public to support the two helicopters, based at Marden and Dunsfold.

Chris and Caroline Martin, who hosted last year’s Ball and head the 2009 committee, said “We have some fantastic plans ahead and with the help and support of past and new sponsors we hope very much to raise even more money for the Air Ambulance. It is a fantastic service which any one of us could need one day. We all walk, cycle and find ourselves in places of difficult access, let alone being on any one of our roads. Transportation to hospital by Air Ambulance is life saving due to its capacity for speed. The cost to keep the Helicopter in the air is immense and there is no Government funding’.

Along with sponsoring the ball, Vector Resourcing will also be attending the 2009 event which is set to have a 1940’s theme to mark the 70th anniversary of the WWII.

Donna Medway, Director, Vector Resourcing, said: “We are very pleased to support our local Air Ambulance as they provide such an amazing and crucial life saving service, without which, many lives would be lost.”
