Guests Fly High as Aviation Day Takes Off

Tuesday 27 July 2010

On Thursday, 15th July, Vector held an Aviation Experience Day for around eighteen clients at the prestigious Langshott Manor House Hotel and nearby Redhill Aerodrome.

A full and fun packed day of flying began with introductions to the aircraft, advice and safety briefings from a team of experienced pilots at the beautifully restored 16th Century Langshott Manor House Hotel in Surrey.

Guests were then chauffeured to Redhill Aerodrome where they had the opportunity to fly a helicopter and a fixed wing aircraft as part of this bespoke, exclusive and unique event, tailor-made by Vector for their clients.

Guests spent the morning in either a Cessna 172 four seater aircraft, Diamondstar DA40 two seater aircraft, or a Robinson R44 four-place light helicopter. The aircraft flew over a variety of local scenic routes with guests swapping aircraft for the afternoon. Everyone had the opportunity to take over the controls and fly the aircraft for an exhilarating thirty minutes within each flying session.

Full hospitality was provided throughout the day including a cooked breakfast on arrival, refreshments and a buffet luncheon, all served at the elegant Langshott Manor Hotel set in a secluded country lane, surrounded by three acres of stunning gardens and an ancient moat.

A prize giving celebration closed this fantastic and exciting day with the best pilot in each category (Fixed Wing and Helicopter) winning a remote control replica of the aircraft.

Below are just some of the great comments received from clients who enjoyed the event:

“Thank you for a very enjoyable day yesterday. Whilst the weather wasn't the greatest for flying it certainly gave me the 'extreme' end of how hard it is to control a helicopter! Flying the fixed-wing 2 seater was a laugh - the 'bumps' being more like tail-slides in a car, and a lot more intuitive to correct, a lot easier as a result. Superb fun and immaculately organised given the challenges, so thanks again.”

“Thank you. It was great fun, bumps included! Easy jet flight was very boring by comparison!”

“Thanks again for a great day - please pass on my gratitude to Donna and the rest of the team.”

"Thanks for a great day at Redhill, I thoroughly enjoyed it and won’t forget it for a while."
