SAP Market Growth
As a SAP contract recruitment specialist at Vector I was very interested in reading the latest results published from SAP:
SAP is showing strong second quarter growth with a reported 15% year on year rise in earnings with revenue up 12%, totalling €2.89 billion as of 30th June this year. Net income for the quarter was €491 million, up 15 percent from €426 million a year earlier.
Support revenue grew 14 percent to €1.53 billion; software sales grew 17 percent to €637 million, and subscription and other software-related service revenue rose 30 percent to €95 million. SAP’s biggest market is the Americas where Software revenue was up 64% for the second quarter, Asia is also up 11%, but it is down in Europe, the Middle East and Africa by 9%.
Second quarter revenue for SAP’s combined activities rose in Europe, the Middle East and Africa but only by 3% to €1.39 billion with the majority of growth coming from Germany, where revenue rose 9 percent to €506 million, from €463 million a year earlier. U.S. revenue rose 21 percent to €802 million.
These results have been reflected on the contract market considerably in the second quarter. Many areas including MM, FI and PP are becoming candidate short areas.
