Coming to the rescue with the right recruits

The background
Vector’s relationship with Bedford Borough Council began back in 2012, when we placed a social care administrator and another 13 recruits – 5 of whom stayed there for more than 3 years. Then, in 2018, like most councils, budgetary pressures forced Bedford BC to use a managed service recruitment model, and the relationship seemingly came to a close.
An unexpected shift
In May of 2021 we received a website enquiry from one of the senior management team at Bedford BC, as they had a role as a ContrOCC Systems Consultant that they’d not been able to fill through their managed service. Prompted by a recent piece of marketing communications from us, she’d remembered our previous relationship and the high-quality candidates we had provided them in the past. With the brief set, our Senior Contract Consultant Mark Casse found a suitable candidate and they were on site within 10 days of that initial enquiry. Another contract role followed – for an Operating Model Lead role that their managed service had yet again failed to fill.
The relationship re-established
The Hiring Manager was so pleased with the candidates Mark provided, he is now talking to other leaders within the Council’s IT Department. So although Bedford BC will defer to their recruitment system for the majority of their needs, we’re there for them whenever they can’t find that perfect candidate – with the kind of approach that creates trust, and delivers unparalleled results.
