DBA and SQL Developer

We are searching for a DBA/SQL Developer to join our client’s IT team, reporting to the Head of IT Development. You will focus on designing and maintaining efficient database solutions, improving legacy Oracle systems, and supporting the future transition to Microsoft SQL Server. This role plays a key part in standardising current structures, optimising performance, and implementing best practices.

Responsibilities

- Design and maintain scalable database structures

- Write and optimise SQL queries, procedures, and functions

- Improve and standardise legacy Oracle environments

- Assist with the planned transition from Oracle to SQL Server

- Implement best practices for performance, documentation, and consistency

Essential Skills

- Strong SQL skills with Oracle and MS SQL Server experience

- Experience simplifying and standardising complex database systems

- Solid understanding of relational database design

- Familiarity with JavaScript for database interaction

- Experience with legacy Oracle (Oracle 12 preferred)
