Systems Development Manager

We are looking for a Systems Development Manager to take responsibility for the delivery of development and technical solutions. This is a critical role, required to help shape, deliver, and maintain our client's long-term technology strategy and roadmap

Responsibilities 

Act as the advocate for the IT department across all areas of the business 

Introduce consistent ways of working and standards within the Systems Development Team

Act as a member of the CAB, being accountable for following agreed process

Ensure the resolution of issues within agreed SLA's

Be responsible for the direct line management of the Systems Development Team including performance management, career development, engagement and retention activities

Work with internal and external parties to ensure release programme management

Review business requirements/functional specifications for internal systems, web and other digital projects, and for third party developments

Act as a point of escalation for technical issues, and escalate upwards if appropriate

Have an input on Vendor selection

Essential Skills 

At least 5 years’ experience of working in IT, working in a development / delivery environment

Strong understanding of IT Technology Systems, Platforms and System Architecture

Knowledge of Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines

Experience of leading a team, with the ability to transfer knowledge, coach and motivate a team to become a high performing team

Experience of working on websites and application platforms
